Common Announces Upcoming Album "Let Love" with Guests Jill Scott, Dwele, Daniel Caesar & More!

Grammy Award-winning rapper COMMON will release his new album Let Love on August 30, 2019, his debut for Loma Vista Recordings.

To coincide with this announcement, he shared his  latest single and music video entitled "Herculesfeat. Swizz Beatz. On the track, he serves up his sharp signature wordplay between soulful backing vocals from Swizz Beatz. Meanwhile, the music video directed by Carrick [Weezer] sees Common thwart a convenience store robbery caught on surveillance camera - in between rapping into his iPhone. Vince Staples makes a cameo as the cashier.

"Hercules" follows on the heels of the recent single "HER Love" featuring Daniel Caesar, special guest Dwele, and an unreleased beat from J Dilla.

On the album, Common shares:

“This album is inspired by the book, “Let Love Have The Last Word” which gave me a path to write about things I had never written about before. It forced me to go deeper and because I opened up about so many things in the book, I was charged to go to raw, personal and spiritual places in the music. Production-wise, I knew that the music had to have depth, soul and dimension to it. I wanted the musicianship and the spirit of what live music brings, but it also had to have something raw and basement about it. When my team said, "You should do some music revolving around the book," I just took that energy and went running into my artistry without focusing on anything else. No movies, no commercials, no parties (well, I don’t do that too much anyway) and I just worked on music. So this album is the culmination of this journey, this passion and this Divine Love that I have for one of GOD's greatest gifts - MUSIC.”

Let Love Track List:
1. Good Morning Love feat. Samora Pinderhughes
2. HER Love feat. Daniel Caesar w/ special guest Dwele

New Music: Daniel Caesar 'Who Hurt You?'

Image result for daniel caesar who hurt you

After the success of his debut album Freudian, Daniel Caesar is back releasing his new solo single "Who Hurt You?" The single penned by Daniel Caesar, complimented with additional vocals from T-Pain was released last week. Caesar rolled out the single with the posting of a craigslist ad, in search of a female companion for the night (which has since been flagged and removed).
Caesar has experienced a great year with having two of his songs reach #1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart. His 'Get You' featuring Kali Uchis peaked 1 week at #1 earlier this year, and 'Best Part' featuring H.E.R. currently holding on to the #1 position for the 2nd consecutive week.

#NewMusic: H.E.R. "I Used To Know Her: The Prelude" - EP Review

The genre of R&B has witnessed a resurgence in the mainstream with the likes of Ella Mai,  SZA, Daniel Caesar, and H.E.R. On Friday, H.E.R. released I Used To Know Her: The Prelude EP to her highly anticipated debut album. The EP consists of six songs and is twenty minutes in length. The opening track "Lost Souls" features the legendary DJ Scratch of EPMD, which pays homage to Lauryn Hill's "Lost Ones," where H.E.R. is rapping socially conscious lyrics over a gritty beat with subtle singing in the backgrounds, adlibs, and chorus.

H.E.R. definitely stayed true to her signature sound of R&B with elements of neo-soul on "Against Me." The last minute and forty-five seconds of "Against Me" gives Floetry-esque vibes with H.E.R. reciting her lyrics in a spoken-word poetry style. We can always count on H.E.R to give us a dope interlude that sets the vibe of her project, like what she does with "Be On My (Interlude). The fourth track on the EP "Could've Been" features singer-songwriter, Bryson Tiller, and is definitely in the runnings to be a fan favorite.

"Feel A Way" is the following track where H.E.R. is begging and pleading in her current relationship where she opens the track singing:
"I'm up, late, night, my phone so dry, No goodnight, I'm tight 'cause I'm paranoid, I can't sleep you're still mad at me, It's not that deep, we been here before, Oh, I hate when you do that sh*t, (oh, oh) Please stop bringin' up the past sh*t (oh, oh), tell me I'm being irrational (know, know), you're in your feelings, but all I know is -- Don't make me feel a way..."
The sixth and final track on the EP is "As I Am," which is a smooth ending to a greatly crafted vibing session.  H.E.R's new EP is available here on all digital platforms. Take a listen to H.E.R.'s EP  I Used To Know Her: The Prelude below!

New Video: Daniel Caeser - ‘Best Part’ feat. H.E.R.

Image result for best part daniel caesar

2x Grammy-nominated R&B star Daniel Caeser shares the music video for his latest single, “Best Part” featuring fellow emerging R&B singer H.E.R.

A gorgeous beachside affair, the captivating split-screen clip depicts each respective vocalist walking along the water. The sun glistens off the sand as the voices entwine despite the distance. Dreamy acoustic guitar resounds as Caeser’s voice carries off into the horizon and H.E.R. simply hypnotizes as she maintains her signature mystery throughout the clip. It’s a cinematic exposition worthy of the song’s luscious and lovelorn emotionality.

“Best Part” stands out as the latest favorite from the artist’s Grammy nominated full-length epic, Freudian. Another phenomenon, it’s already racked up over 66 million Spotify streams and counting.

Last night, the duo joined forces for the first late night performance of the track on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!

After recently completing his sold out Freudian World Tour, Caeser descends on Coachella this weekend and next.

Caeser quietly built a platform to reach the top of R&B and soul in 2018. He’s performed everywhere from The Late Late Show with James Corden to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert alongside Chance the Rapper, no less, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. Notably, he even attracted the highest endorsement possible, with “Get You” appearing on President Barack Obama’s “Year-End Best Songs list” alongside another Caeser favorite “First World Problems.”
