New Album: JAWAN - Broken

Our previous #IndieArtistSpotlight JAWAN is back as he promised with the release of his debut album Broken. Leading up to its release, Broken has spawned three singles, title-track “Broken,” “Cool,” and “Everything.”

JAWAN previously described the process of creating this project as, “really fun, sometimes draining, but always a spiritual process. I’m learning so much about myself, about music and recording, and, really, just my overall sound. Figuring out my place in the music scene has been a really dope ass experience.”

JAWAN’s debut album Broken is available here and on all streaming platforms. 

New Album: Dawn Richard - New Breed

World-class indie Singer, Songwriter and Producer DAWN RICHARD returns with her fifth studio LP New Breed which features the singles, "jealousy", title-track "New Breed" and the seductive "Sauce" on this 10-song set.

On the album, Richard adds:

"This album speaks to the new breed of women who is saying, "Me too", who is saying, "I'm queer". The new breed of man who is saying, "I'm choosing to be gay even if I've been straight my whole life", the new breed of women who is saying, "I'm trans". The new breed of women who is being unapologetic and saying, "I want to run for President, I am able to run for President".

New Album: Tamia - Passion Like Fire

Grammy-nominated R&B singer/songwriter Tamia has released her seventh studio LP, Passion Like Fire in her illustrious career via Plus One.

On the 12-track project, Tamia collaborates with frequent producer Shep Crawford, Lil Ronnie and Salaam Remi, who produced the lead single, “Leave It Smokin” which currently holds the No. 2 spot on the Adult R&B Airplay Chart.

Subsequently, “Today I Do” & “Deeper” were released as follow-up singles.

New Album: Joi - SIR Rebekkah Holylove

Featuring her hot single "Stare at Me," Joi is back with her fifth album SIR Rebekkah Holylove. The songstress and now actress is bringing the heat with 10 funky songs like"Berlin" and "Kush". The album sets a new wave and vibe for the summer. But her album isn't just the only thing catching her waves, you can also catch Ms. Joi with a cameo appearance on Season 2 of Netflix's Luke Cage. She will be featured as herself while performing her featured song for the show.

THE INTERNET Announce Forthcoming Album ‘Hive Mind’ + Tracklisting

After releasing their lead single and visual “Roll (Burbank Funk)” earlier this year, R&B/Funk band The Internet recently took to social media to announce their upcoming fourth album Hive Mind. Due on July 20th, the 13-song album is now available for pre-order and includes the brand new single, “Come Over”.

The album has been described as “kaleidoscopic, neo-soul, future sounds that reveal the growth in their creative chemistry”. It’s said to be light years beyond their previous output, both intricate and minimal, while giving each member’s contributions the space to shine.

They chose to highlight this sense of togetherness as a major theme for the album. “After making a few songs we realized that we really want to use this album to live by example and promote camaraderie amongst young black people,” reveals Syd. “We realized that we’re the only band of our kind. And we want to really solidify ourselves as that, as the best.”
