Black Music Month Spotlight: Intro

Brooklyn, New York-based trio Intro originally consisted of Clinton "Buddy" Wake, Jeff Sanders and Kenny Greene.

Founding member Kenny Greene was instrumental in crafting the lyrical content and song styling of Mary J. Blige's multi-platinum debut album What's the 411?

The group released their self-titled debut album in 1993 which peaked in the Billboard Top 10 R&B Albums Chart at No. 6 and includes the singles "Love Thang!!!", "Let Me Be the One", "Ribbon in the Sky" (Stevie Wonder cover) and their biggest hit to date "Come Inside".

In 1995, the group released a follow-up album entitled New Life featuring the singles "Feels Like the First Time" & "Funny How Time Flies".

In 2001, at the young age of 32 Greene passed away from AIDS complications.

Intro continues to record and perform to this day.
