Black Music Month Spotlight: Chuckii Booker


R&B Singer, songwriter, record producer and multi-instrumentalist Chuckii Booker got his first big break in music by collaborating with Vanessa L. Williams, Kool & the Gang and Troop.


He would go on to become Janet Jackson's musical director for her highly successful Rhythm Nation tour.

In 1989, Booker released his debut album Chuckii which includes the singles "Touch", "(Don't U Know) I Love U" and the No. 1 R&B hit "Turned Away".


Four years later in 1992, he returned with his sophomore LP Niice & Wild featuring the singles "I Should Have Loved You" and the chart-topping hit "Games".


Booker would later go on to be musical director for some of the biggest names in music such as TLC, Mary J. Blige, New Edition & Tina Turner.
