Maxwell Leaves Longtime Label Columbia Records to form Musze in Partnership with BMG


3x Grammy winner Maxwell has announced his departure from his longtime record label Columbia Records which launched his career in 1996 with the release of his iconic debut album Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite along with subsequent albums Embrya, Now, BLACKsummers'night and blackSUMMERS'night.

The singer, songwriter and producer has created his own independent imprint label Musze and signed a multi-album global recording agreement with BMG.

In a statement about the move, Maxwell says:

"I'm looking forward to this next chapter and new partnership with my label Musze/BMG and all that we can accomplish together. The sky is the limit!"

In other Maxwell news, the soul crooner is set to receive the Legend Award at this year's 2021 Soul Train Awards which premieres Sunday, November 28th at 8 PM ET/PT on BET and BET Her.
