Fifteen-time Grammy Award-winning superstar Alicia Keys has released the first official song "Lifeline" from the soundtrack for the new film adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel and the stage musical The Color Purple via gamma. & WaterTower Music.
The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to The Color Purple which drops December 15th features the songs from the movie performed by cast members Fantasia, Taraji P. Henson, Colman Domingo, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R. & Halle Bailey, as well as original material inspired by the film by Mary J. Blige, Megan Thee Stallion, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Jorja Smith, Keyshia Cole, Coco Jones, Ciara, Mary Mary & Missy Elliott.
Serving as the film's executive music producers are Nick Baxter, Stephen Bray, Quincy Jones, Scott Sanders and Blitz Bazawule.
Directed by Bazawule, The Color Purple film also stars Corey Hawkins, Aunjanue Ellis, Jon Batiste, Elizabeth Marvel and Louis Gossett Jr. and will be released in theaters nationwide on December 25th by Warner Bros. Pictures.
