“Chains” follows after Kane’s cover of Barbara Acklin’s classic “Love Makes a Woman” which was a top 10 single across streaming charts.
On the song Arika Kane mentions:
“Musically
I wanted to get back to my roots and my love for R&B on this record. The
lyrics express the process and transition that most go through after
heartbreak. It’s based on a personal experience of mine that I felt needed to
be expressed in song in knowing that many people have been through it at some
point in their lives and can relate to the same experience.”
