In Retrospect: Top Female R&B/Soul Albums turn 30


If anything positive can be said about the year 1987 one thing's for sure, it was such a great period for women in music particularly R&B acts from Whitney Houston dominating the Hot 100 Billboard charts with consecutive #1 hits to Jody Watley releasing her Grammy Award-winning breakout self-titled solo debut to Pebbles making a statement, "Girlfriend how could you let him treat you so bad?" and of course Stephanie Mills, Angela Winbush, Regina Belle and Miki Howard slow jam grooves have stood the test of time.
